Introducing Digitakt II

For a moment I thought you were referring to a classic track  No, but the Mirage and EPS sound great, esp. with filters. Since we have BRR and SRR to achieve this sound I’d see no problem if one would reduce sample rate to get more recording time (if it was a hardware limit). In music we are in the multidimensional universe, forgotten which tier, but that one where all future paths are observable and different pasts

Another alternative entirely is that they are using the 16MB NOR Flash device for an intermediate sample record buffer, but this is unlikely to me as it sits closer to the Coldfire processor

That’s what I figured. Which is annoying as that’s either a highly paternalistic choice (this is how our device should be used) or else a product-cannibalization fear.

If their marketing incentives change in the future, would it be a large undertaking to address memory in a different way? I’ve done a bunch of interactive development but never anything low-level like this.

Obviously.
Now I do believe that you can match sounds, with a little more tweaking.
Anyway, 1 point for the DT1!

Can’t wait to see the DT1 hardcore fan possy challenging DT2 users in hip-hop battles ^^

Maybe the reversed amp/filter order does make a difference?

I think I might start a petition for implementing a full legacy sound mode, auto-enabled when loading DT1 projects or sounds.

What about trying to match it?
Differences are real thin and parameters so many…

It’s a little extra effort to implement and was just not in the specs for the device, I guess. You also need a proper zoom feature for editing/handling start/stop/loop points for really long samples, like full tracks.

For that I would have to leave my comfy only one machine on the desk at once routine  (And add mixer, video etc.). Think @jcd would be a much better choice for that

I already found the applications for the DT2 for me. And I already get to like the (new) FX page and 16 slots etc. And the new filter (resonance on BPF for great BD, a little like on AR). Not to mention the fantastic not trig conditions, which will hopefully infect AR before it will be suceeded, too, with AR III (= 3 LFOs )

If it’s mainly due to the slight extra master EQ curve of the DT1, no editing of individual tracks will get us there. I think it’s a combination of this and the switched order. Is the Overdrive algorithm the same?

I guessed right and for me the bitcrushing sounded indeed a bit more musical on the DT2. Especially when you tuned it all the way down.

ezbot is doing a livestream right now

don’t watch it if you’re trying to hold off on buying one

Yeah that’s why I mentioned it is probably boot ROM and not for this lol

Even worse is if you bought one and you’re waiting for it to show up but there’s no tracking number or eta :flushed:

Now I want one, but I don’t want to sell anything.

EZ-bot sounds like he’s trying to talk someone down from a ledge
play his video at 0.75 the beats just groove

does anyone know if you can modulate the parameters of the euclidean sequencer?

Is the new retrig mode on the D2 the same as the retrig modifier on the Syntakt?

Can you still sample only L or only R, or L+R merged as dual mono?
