Any new machines planned for AR?

Just wondering if there has been any chat or statements to this effect one way or the other?

Definitely need new/more machines. Have only heard of Ring mod bassdrum rumored many months ago.

It’s been a long time without any significant update… we bought this expensive machine thinking about the future updates, and nothing :frowning:

We NEED more machines, more effects, more LFO and p-lock on tempo !

You should never buy any gear based on what may come in the future. I too would love new machines. I’m expecting a ring mod machine in the future, and I hope for more, but knowing elektron, they won’t spill the beans

I’ve resigned myself to nothing new until long after their precious overbridge is released.

I feel like an older sibling with a brand new baby in the family. And I’m only a half year old, saying nothing for my much older siblings.

I have the impression the ring modulator machines are ready, but they keep it for the ā€˜major’ postponebridge update!

open beta will be open soon  they said Feb!

They’re planning to release 14 new instruments, 7 new LFOs, 8 new p-lock methods, 5 new +Drives, 9 new forums, 11 new moderators, 1 new joystick, 9 new function buttons, some new rubber feet, a new t-shirt, some new shoes, a new YouTube channel…

Syke, who knows what’s planned. Just enjoy what you got if you exhausted all the features in the AR more power to you. You deserve something new

Or, you could pick up one of Biologik’s sound packs (assuming you have an A4, realizing this is an AR forum) which rock BTW! Thanks for those

I’m also waiting for the stress detector machine!

If you don’t have a Rytm why would you need more machines?

I do have a RYTM. Maybe you’re thinking of someone else??

My bad.

hopefully elektron aren’t totally devoted to the USB audio interface side of things for their programmers.

most people bought their boxes specifically to get away from computers and instead have their universe in one or more 13.5" x 7" x 2.5" standalone boxes, each of which does as much as it possibly can.

OT/RYTM updates of substance would make me far happier (and would bring them more new sales if they understand their market).

REALISTICALLY they could:

-Finish the ANALOG CLASSIC machine with congas and other 808 percussion left out
-Finish the FM machine series for the rest of the multi oscillator voices (AKA everything but toms)
-Finish the ANALOG HARD machines (909 toms are very needed :alien: )
-Release the RING MOD bass drum machine, and maybe expand the line

Not sure what else they could do with the architecture, maybe do a Ace Tone RhythmAce/Korg MiniPops-type 60s drum machine type sound, although that could just be careful parameter design of the classic series.

I love the AR but only so much possibility with analog chips

This is also my concern and feeling. I could care less about overbridge and more about RYTM and OT bugs fixes and upgrades. I really hope overbridge does not sidetrack what Elektron does really well. Hardware. Stay on target.

Same. I don’t really care about Overbridge as well.

I’m fairly resigned to the fact that Overbridge may never happen. Dunno what I’d do with it anyway. If I were that concerned with computers in my set up I’d use Maschine.

RYTM could use a good update.

I’d like both, new machines and Overbridge!

My Rytm is only six weeks old, so I’ve not hit the point where I feel in any way limited or neglected. I understand, though, where people are coming from. Still, since they had announced Overbridge for Q4 last year and it’s now Q1 of a new year, I can see why they want to focus on this and get it out.

Overbridge is a pretty big thing that will sell units.

I’m all about software trickery, almost everything I do in software save for the Rytm and a few choice pieces, so Overbridge excites me a lot.

If the machines I outlined above are implemented, and the few glaring bugs (like bass tom glitch) are fixed, they can give up support and I’d be okay with that

The company has never done software before, let alone software that is also a hardware audio driver.

I’m sure Overbridge has been even more of an undertaking than they expected. I myself would be fine with just an audio driver without any of the other features, but I think they feel they have something to prove here and see the potential of something really well integrated. It has likely sucked in additional resources and is holding up other development.
