Hypersynth Xenophone on my christmas list.
Very Interesting.
Yes it definitely is. Single DPO sequenced and VCAâd by an A4. BTW, the DPO thanks to it Fold Strike input is pretty much a full featured synth voice.
edit:wrong thread
Atlantis is an awesome complete voice. Great way to get into modular and learn about possibilities without buying too much crap youâll sell later.
I recently picked up some verbos modules (multistage and amp/tone controller) and hot diggity the quality is unreal. I will probably get them all eventually

Iâd have to agree with previous posts about the Minitaur. It is amazing and it seems like any setting you have it at is usable. I sold my Minitaur in order to fund purchase of the a4 and no regrets on that but I have wanted to get the Minitaur back ever since. However, I sort of impulse bought the SE Boomstar 5089 instead. What I will say comparing the two is that while the Minitaur has the upper hand in terms of immediate usability the Boomstar (wow I dislike that name) is way deeper in terms of sound design and sound incredible for bass, synth, and leads once you have it dialed in⌠Minitaur is limited in terms of sound design and lead duties (due to the limited scale) but is cheaper.

I donât mind the name, the boomstar synths are awesome, however, they are priceyâŚin the respect that if I want the Moog style filterâŚfor the money I might as well buy a MoogâŚout of the boomstar line I would be looking at one of the other modelsâŚI mean if I had the money I would take the whole lineâŚbut you know what I mean.
I agree. I probably would not have been able to pull the trigger on the Boomstar if I had not found a new/ b-stock Boomstar on Ebay. I am glad I did. As I am integrating the B* more into my set up I am realizing how diverse and usable it is. And although it has the Moog style filter it does have its own voice which is very different than the Moogs I have tried.
Did you see the eurorack modules they announcedâŚwant

Love those but modular is killing my wallet ![]()

Using a Moog Voyager with mine. Amazing sounds.
Anyone using a Pro 2 with theirs?
Is there a reason the Waldorf Pulse 2 isnât listed here? I ask because I already see the Pulse and Pulse+.
The new reissues of the Arp Odyssey might be interesting as a 5th voice as well. ( either Korg or Behringer - weâll see what the final specs/price on both look like).
What about the Moog Werkstatt? The recently released CV expander makes it directly âpluggableâ (or compatible if you prefer) to 3.5 mm jacks. That looks like a relatively inexpensive 5th voice for the A4, with less bells and whistles than other mono synths, but hey, itâs a Moog and comes at a small package that fits every desk.
That said: it would not surprise me if Moog jumps in the eurorack train, considering that DSI already has with the Curtis filterâŚ
Let the NAMM/Musikmesse predictions frenzy begin
My wife fears I will go down the modular path. Do not tempt me!
I CV-ed the SubP last night. Such joy. I dragged the wife into the studio, âListen, there are five analog voices going in this piece. Itâs so juicy and warm.â
Wife gave me that look, âUh huh.â
I know that look well XD âdoes it go plinky plonk, wubwub or boom tishâ is her usual phrase when I show gear haha
⌠Itâs so juicy and warm."

heh, I donât even attempt to explain these things to my wife anymore

these are going to be so tempting
What about the Mutable Instruments Shruthi? The specs show 4 CV ins.

Yes - it only has CV out - not CV in!
Touche⌠sad thing was I knew that, and just failed to connect the dots.

Shruthi CV:
[ul]
[li]The input CV must be constrained in the 0V ⌠5V range. Voltages outside of this range will damage the MCU. This is not a problem when wiring a pot, joystick, sensor, LDR, etc, but it could be a problem when adding jacks for connecting external signals from a modular. We recommend adding a protection circuit on the inputs â such as two unity gain inverters, the second realized with a single-supply rail-to-rail op-amp.[/li]
[li]The CV inputs are scanned at a fairly low rate (close to 50 Hz), and their resolution is 8-bit. This prevents audio-rate modulations, and accurate pitch control.[/li]
[/ul]
So what does this mean in relation to A4 controlling the Shruthi?
