I’m going to a game jam next week to participate as a composer and sound effects designer. For those who dont know, a game jam is a weekend where programmers, graphic designers and composers distributed in a few teams try to make a little game. Finally there are prizes for best games, music, graphics, etc…But the most important thing is to have fun!!
I want to bring my Analog Keys and a laptop. I want to do all the electronics retro synths with it.
What are the tricks to make this 8bit retro synths sounds with the Analog Keys?
On the noise page of OSC1 turn up the S&H setting. You’ll hear the bit reduction. Also, using the pulse width waveform and simple envelopes (0 attack and release with 127 Decay and sustain) helps.
Of course. I will post the link for the games and info.
Yesterday I was playing with my AnalogK, trying the tricks you posted, and the presets from marmotaudio and I think I have enought sounds to begin with, to tweak a little bit and have good results.
The presets from the Richard Devine soundset, from the Elektron site are also good for FX.
Hola compañero
Empezaría a partir de estos ajustes: Wave=Tri
OSC 2 pag
PWM= ancho variable y modulado por LFO 1 y/o 2
Suerte!
Hi mate
Start from these settings: Wave = Tri
plays with OSC 2 pag AM modifies parameters harmonics AM
PWM = variable width and modulated by LFO 1 and / or 2
AMP ENVELOPE with very short attack modulated by Velocity or AT or … that you prefer, ARP Mode = play with it and SPD very short values.
Play with LFOs and Pan, reverb level …
And as I said a fellow before, simply.
Luck!
Yes. It was a really great experience. Thanks!
I recommend everyone to participate in a Game Jam. Now it is the Global Jam event at the end of January. So whereever you live there should be an event you could join. Totally worth it!
